Science- 8th Grade

Students work on a wide variety of scientific topics.  Students will develop 2D models to explain differences between physical/chemical changes and matter/energy conservation within physical and chemical changes.  Students will analyze and draw conclusions, citing evidence about the mechanisms of reproductions and compare pros and cons of genetic variation.  Students will explain the complex interactions of climates involving sunlight, the ocean, the atmosphere, ice, landforms, and living things.  They will analyze and evaluate the associations between the sun and a collection of objects including planets, their moons and asteroids.
